Up for sale is a very nice condition 1967 Plymouth Belvedere convertible. This car was restored several years ago and and many other new parts were added.
The history of this car was traced to its St. Louis manufacturing plant then to its shipment to a local new car dealership in Rapid City, South Dakota. Local Rapid City car experts consulted speculate that the car was purchased by one of the thousands of military personnel assigned to the area that were involved in the production of the "Minuteman Missile" program in the 1960's.
The next documented ownership or the car was in Texas, where it spent the majority of its life. It was owned by several local Texans and car collectors that used it in local parades and even a high school prom. The car eventually found its way to the a local Texas NASCAR mechanic who gave it a facelift and restored its 318 c.i. engine and paint and added many features including a Pro-Built Air Conditioning unit, redline tires and magnum 500 rims, and stainless steel Flo Master "H" pipe dual exhaust (sounds great). The car was given better reliability with additions such as M.S.D. and HEI distributor and also a new pioneer stereo (although the original radio is still in the dash and still works).
The car was then sold to a older retired Oklahoma State Trooper who would take her on Vintage Car road trips from Oklahoma to Branson, Missouri. He told me it was the perfect car for road trips and claims he even got 24 MPG!! He had it inspected by the NHRA in 2006.
Since this car spent the majority of its life the dry Texas heat it has NO RUST. No rust anywhere, and still shows signs of the Texas dust on the undercarriage. Since leaving Texas it has never seen rain and is always garaged and rarely even water washed.
This car is listed on Galen Govier's Registry and a copy of the original "build card" and "Build Record Certificate" was obtained from the Chrysler Historical Collection. The original "Build Sheet" from under the rear seat is still with the car.
With its red line tires and Magnum 500 rims and throaty exhaust sound, people constantly compliment the car and ask if it's a GTX. The engine is super clean and the trunk even has a new original style mat.
This MOPAR turns heads where ever it goes and can be driven anywhere with reliability and confidence.
